I think we are making strides in our nutritional preperation. I do know however we spend such little time together that I dont totally get to give you guys all the information you need. The following article is a great one on nutrition in a new athlete. I want you to read this article and blog to me 2 things you learned about nutrition or two things you can improve on. I learned that teen athletes may need anywhere from 2,000 to 5,000 total calories per day to meet their energy needs. The other thing i learned was that not getting enough calories can cause growth problems and other serious heath risks.

I learned that Caffeine is a diuretic, meaning it causes a person to pee more.

I learned that we teen athletes need more calories, around 2,000-5,000. I also learned that say I don't eat lunch on game day, I won't be able to play to the best of my ability.

I learned that we need to have more calories than others because we are active.I also learned that if we don't eat, our muscles will break down and it will also be hard to maintain our weight.

ReplyDeleteboy these are oldd! i was just listening to dj khaled then i thought of our season then i thought of you! oh..its katie vanbenschoten. haha. camille h, sarah s, ally b, and myself are playing in a cortland league with ms. case coaching us every tuesday and thursday. games are 6:30 if you want to stop by the...i have no clue, ask ms. case if you want to know. it may be the town hall. hopefully we see you!
